My name is Corinne, I am a French woman very busy with three small kids ... but I was very motivated learning Chinese when I arrived in Shanghai, ten months ago!! I am still now!!!! I never wanted to change!!! Because of many different reasons.
-Flexibility of teachers: I was expecting of 1 to 1 lesson in order to improve quickly my capacity of understanding and speaking. Yao Language’s teacher proposed me a schedule that fit with my busy life
- Capacity of understanding needs: I wanted to reach two principal objectives: to be able to listen and to speak mandarin and to pass different levels of HSK (Mandarin Level test). Yao Language proposed me to have class with two different teachers: that is really a good way of learning because lessons are different but complementary, different ways of teaching, different voices..... And one of my lesson is more test preparation oriented. After 4 months, I already passed the first level of the HSK test (oral understanding and speaking, vocabulary and grammar)!!!! Teachers trust in you and make you more confident step by step with mandarin!!!!
- Specific items: Because I had specific requirements (not just following a method), teachers modified lessons to answer my requirements as: specific vocabulary (shopping, location ...), grammar points (structure of sentence, asking words ...), oral exercises, writing exercises
-After few months, I am now really able to manage alone a lot of things in mandarin (shopping and restaurant, to speak with my Ayi and my driver (who doesn't speak English at all.)
